MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Technical Matric / Grade 12 with Mathematics (not Mathematics literacy )
• N3/N2 electrical or mechanical qualification
• At least 4 years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment (FMCG will be preference)
• Must be physically fit and be able to lift to 50 kg
• Able to stand or walk for extended periods of time ‘
• Must be able to work extended hours from time to time
• Must be able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

• Identify and analyse process challenges
• Root cause analysis and implementation
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Basic Welding skills
• Strong technical aptitude and fault finding ability
• Basic fold finding on PLC system (Siemens) advantage.

 JOB SUMMARY

• Responsible for ensuring that the production facilities are kept running from an electrical and mechanical level during the shifts.
• Able to use pneumatics and hydraulics
• Electrical abilities will consist of single and three phase wiring and connecting of motors and panels.
• Replace defective parts of machine or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts
• Align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
• Breakdowns are to be repaired as quickly as possible
• Connect power unit to machines or steam piping to equipment, and test unit to evaluate its mechanical operation.
• Repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
• Assemble and install equipment, using hand tools and power tools.
• Position steel beams to support bedplates of machines and equipment, using blueprints and schematic drawings, to determine work procedures.
• Partnering with a mentor to perform precision maintenance
• Welding, fabrication, machine work and hydraulic tuning
• Laser, belts chain sprocket alignment
